B2b Theatre_

part of Evolve Exchange

Bound 2 B Theatre’s work incorporates dance puppetry, voice and music through collaboration with choreographers, designers and musicians to produce innovative theatre. The company is committed to working with members of the community by involving them in workshops and youth programmes encouraging them to expand their skills and share their experiences.
The company is directed by Belinda Lee Chapman who has worked extensively with Matthew Bourne’s company ‘New Adventures’ performing lead roles and being involved in the creative process. She also gained recognition for co-founding Bea Theatre and directing ‘Ruby and the Big Top’ which toured nationally. She won The 2007 Arts Foundation Fellowship as a ‘creator of young people’s theatre’.
The company are currently resident at The Corn Exchange, Newbury where they will be previewing their new production of ‘The Night Time Whisperers’ in Autumn ’09.
In The Night Time Whisperes, we are taken on the journey of a boy who seeks refuge from his troubled home life through imagination where the subconscious mind is set free within dreams. His perception of adult conflict illustrates the way in which a child’s voice can become suppressed and his cries for help ignored by those around him.
The mischievous Night Time Whisperers lead this chaotic adventure by forcing him to face his fears and discover a newfound sense of freedom. Through the piece we explore delicate issues that children have to deal with in family life such as conflict, separation and grief.
